I have fallen behind on the Blog Posting. Sorry! We have been very busy all around and because I have fallen behind there is lots to catch up on.

We have had several "celebrations" this month. Mark and I have a tradition of always celebrating Cinco De Mayo. We eat Mexican food every 5th of May. We don't know why it is just something we have always done. So this year, we did it again. Cheesy enchilada's, chips and salsa, Queso, and fajita tacos. With frosty beverages. Thank you Mexico for this reason to gorge ourselves on Mexican food every year. :)

We also had my birthday. Another year older. I had a great birthday. My processors decorated my office and had cake, then I got to spend the evening eating seafood, opening presents, and more cake with the family! I must say, I felt truly blessed. I have been blessed with great friends, co-workers, and an amazing family.

My mother and I hosted a Diaper Shower for my sister and my upcoming niece. We had a good turnout and baby Aubrey got some cute stuff as well as Tiff got plenty of diapers and gift cards (for all that boring stuff you have to have) Because this is her second girl and we have nothing but little girls Tiff has lots of clothes and necessities from Hailey, and Mallory. So we had a Diaper Shower so she could stock up.

This past week I had a Conference for work in Irvine, CA that I attended. Mark was home alone with Mallory for 3 days. From what I hear it went great. She was on her best behavior and he had no problems at all. OF COURSE! I was jealous that it went so well but I think that was just because I missed them terribly.

There are lots of new things going on with Mallory:

• We are WALKING!!! She will walk if you pick her up and stand her up. She is also letting go of things and walking to you. Soon we will be all on her own. We are so excited about the walking.
  
• She still says her old favorite words but now we have shortened "Buh Bye" to simply "Bye" with a wave and a slow draw accent (it is pretty funny). She also has added "Hi" and "Ta Ta" (for thank you).
  
• She shakes her head "No" in context now when she doesn't want something. The manner in which she does it cracks us up though.
  
• She has started dancing by flailing her arms up and down and clapping. You can always tell that she likes a song because she starts clapping or moving her arms up and down.
  
• We are working on solid foods and we have come a long ways. She is going through some middle ground where she is not crazy about baby food any longer and not too sure of table food. We have made progress though. We have discovered she will eat the following: bananas, Vienna sausages, canned carrots, canned green beans, hamburger patty, chicken strips, tater tots (apparently the biggest hit so far), yogurt, cous cous (who knew), french fries. Nothing is consistent at this point and one would laugh to see the plate I sit down with her every night. I have to have a variety because we never know what she will want.
• We have made progress with the sippy cup. She gets juice in it through out the day and then we give her about 4 ounces of formula out of it at night after dinner during play time.
  
• She loves the water we have been back to the pool a couple of times and it is always a big hit. Lots of splashing and fun.

We have had festive and busy last couple of weeks. 2 Weeks ago was Fiesta. In San Antonio the city celebrates the 2 weeks before Easter with what is essentially a giant party for the city every day and night. There are parades, events, music, and LOTS of food. One night Mark and I worked a booth at NIOSA (Night in Old San Antonio) which is nothing but food booths and drink booths lined up. We also get to partake in the festivities by working the booth. It was a great time. Mallory spent the night at Nana & Pop Pop's so we got the stay out late and sleep in. :) Thanks Nana and Pop Pop. Then that weekend we went down to Market Square and took Mallory. We got to see all the street vendors, listen to the Tejano music and see all the people. Mallory thoroughly enjoyed the sights and sounds. She loves to be the observer. And can skip all naps if there is something going on.
The next weekend Mallory's Mia and Paddy came in town for the long Easter weekend. We crammed a ton of stuff in but had a great time. Friday we took Mallory to the San Antonio Zoo. I had forgotten how much fun the Zoo can be. Mallory was most impressed by the monkey's. She screetched and said Hello to all the monkey's. She also really liked the Guinnies. They walked right up to her and I am pretty sure they would have pecked her if we would have let them. Then on Saturday we took Mallory for her first swimming pool experience. Those of you who know me well, also know that in my family being a "Water Bug" is a must. Between the water sports and the lake our children must all be accustomed to sunscreen and water. She took to it like the Nolder decendant she is. She was a little caught off gaurd by the temperature at first but then there was splashing, walking around the kiddie pool, and floating in her floatation device. The only problem we ran into was the sunscreen. Her Eczema acts up when we put it on her so I have since contacted the Pedi and have purchased a new sunscreen at her recomendation.
Then we had a great day Easter Sunday. The church service was wonderful with the orchestra and brass, and then it was off to Lunch and a family oriented day at my sisters house. There was much food and family fun. Mallory didnt seem too excited about Easter this year except for the plastic eggs. She loves them. Next year I am sure she will be ready to hunt them! All in All it was a great weekend and we were truly blessed to have Mark's parents there to join in the festivities.

New Stuff for Mallory:
*Says Dada, Mama, Buh Bye, Waves Hi, Says Uh Uh Oh, and Ma (for Marley the cat, yes she is still the favorite in our household).
*Crawls up stairs by herself
*Walks holding someone's 1 finger, or pushing her walker
*Started eating table food (this is going veeeerrrryyy slowly) She will eat real banana's, puffs, little crunchers, rice, beans, Vienna sausages, and last night we discovered tortillas with queso (yes she is definitely my daughter)
