Talking to Papa
Well we are now 3 weeks old. We had a very busy week. Wednesday, Mema & Papa came to visit and meet their new great granddaughter. Everyone came over for burgers (I had a chicken sandwich) and sweet potato fries. It was great to have the whole family together. Mema & Papa came to visit every day until Saturday and then we ventured out and spent the evening at my parents house. They got to smother her with kisses and love, and Papa got to put her in the cradle. The cradle was made for me by him when I was born. Now my little munchkin gets to sleep in it every night. It was a very special week.
Friday afternoon I took Mallory for her 2nd PKU test. I didn't know I was supposed to take her until her Dr appt last week and the Pediatrician reminded me. Apparently they told me when I was leaving the hospital but they really should write stuff like that down for new moms. I mean with all the paperwork and information they give you at discharge it is amazing you make it home without forgetting the baby. Anyways, we sat for an hour and half all for a 5 min procedure that I was so worried she would start screaming and it was almost time to eat so I just knew I would never get her calmed back down. The nurse pricked her heel and she just whined for sec and then fell right back asleep. I was so happy.
She is changing everyday. We have started having great awake time where she plays on the boppy for tummy time, lays on her back and wiggles around, sits in our laps outside and moves her little hands and feet. She likes the swing if you put her in it happy. She will stay in it and even fall asleep. If you put her in it even a little upset you get screaming. She is taking a bottle from Mark every evening and then she has bath time, which she loves, until you take her out. She is tracking sounds with her head and watching movement and light with her eyes. She still hasn't found her fingers to suck on yet but she is very close. She gets them in for about 20 secs at a time and then looses them. I hope she gets them soon because she still wont take the paci so we are fighting a bit still to take naps after awake time. I have become a professional walker/rocker/bouncer. There is a certain combination that will help her to fall asleep. I look almost like I am dancing around the living room in an awkward position but not nearly as graceful. My left arm is getting very strong though and my back should be in the best shape of its life by the time she finds her fingers.
All in all she is a great baby. We are enjoying every moment with her.We shall see what adventures this week brings.
