We had a very short week this week after labor day but it was jam packed with stuff. We had the visit from Hermaine (the tropical storm). So after Mallory had been sleeping through the night we were awakened to the loud thunder at 2 AM. Both Mark and I thought for sure we would be up with here because it was so loud we were sure we were almost struck by lightning. But to our relief, she slept right through it all the way till morning. On Wednesday Hailey's mothers day out was canceled due to the flooding and my mother had a hair appointment so I offered to babysit. I love that little girl and her funny little sayings and things she does. But I must say, after 4 hours of watching a very active 2 year old and tending to my own little one, I was exhausted. We had a great time though. On Friday Me, Mallory, my mother, Tiff, Hailey, and Tiff mother in law Pam all went to lunch and then the Parade of homes. We looked like the circus had come to town. 2 strollers, 2 diaper bags, 1 two year old, 1 two month old, and all we were missing was a partridge in a pear tree. The funny thing was, we had to get on and off a bus 4 times total. There were 8 houses and we were there for about 4.5 hours. And yes, at times there were people staring at us. However, both babies were soooo good. But it was a very long day. Plus, I walked away from the parade with no new ideas whatsoever. That is the whole reason I go, for decorating tips. Very disappointed. Saturday we went up to Austin. My dad was being honored at a luncheon for the Theron Pickle award. It is a lifetime achievement award for TISCA (Texas Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association) which is for High School Swimming & Diving in Texas. It is primarily only awarded to swim coaches so it was a very big honor for him to be recognized. Mallory was asleep when we arrived so we left her in the car seat. The moment they started speaking on the microphone she was startled awake and started to fuss. Before I could get her out of the car seat to calm her down, they said "Please take a moment of silence and prayer for 9-11". She burst into screams. But that was the only time she cried through the whole luncheon. She was very good for her Pop Pop's big day. After the luncheon we went to my cousin's house to visit for a bit. My Grandma came in town to see the luncheon so we all got together afterward . Needless to say we spent today relaxing and making sure we had good naps. Note: Yes...we love the boppy. It is our napping, relaxing, playing, tummy time, and feeding tool. It gives me and Mark sanity because she likes it!
