Pool time

This past weekend we went to Longview for the 3rd annual Memorial Day gathering. Every Memorial Day we go to Longview and all of Marks dear friends and their families come in town. It gives the adults time to hang out and catch up as well as all the kids (now there are kids) to play and get to know each other. This year Ric and Cheryl went all out for the little ones. We had a bounce house for the older kids and a kiddie pool for the little ones. There was bubbles and sidewalk chalk a plenty. We had burgers, hot dogs, and all the fixins. We also had pak-n-play's and cribs set up in 3 locations so nobody had to stop having fun we could just put the little ones down. We had a fabulous time.
On Sunday we went down the street to swim in the pool. Mallory loves the water (clearly in her blood) and of course had a great time swimming. We also got to watch baby Mia swim for the first time. She loved it as well. We are all looking forward to watching our little ones grow up together and become dear friends as well. Thanks to Mia and Paddy for hosting the weekend. It was a wonderful time and Mallory always loves to see her Mia and Paddy. She also got to show off her walking skills to her great grandfather Rex (Pa). He came to visit ready to see her. (yes Mark and I are fully aware we are chopped liver at this point and people pretty much only come to see her)
After the weekend it was back in the car for the long ride home. She did great on the ride. Took a good nap, laughed and played. Towards the end of the trip one of us had to get in the back to talk with her. But for the most part she did great for a 6 hour trip.

Mallory's World these days:
  • She walks from standing. (not standing up and walking on her own)
  • She is pretty much done with baby food and will eat chicken nuggets, hot dogs, mashed potato's, canned carrots and green beans, all yogurt, loves mandarin oranges, and french fries. Puffs, Cheerios, goldfish, gram crackers, and animal cookies are our snacks.
  • She will say "Hi" "Bye" "Uh Oh" "Mama" "Dada" "Nana" "Ma-E" (Marley), "Ma-gee" (my parents dog)
  • She blow kisses, shows you "where her belly is", Takes her shirts off over her head, Raises her arms when you say "all done?" in the high chair.
  • For toys she loves any toys that allow her to put things "in" toys. EI blocks box, puzzles, lids on Tupperware, balls into buckets.
  • She also has learned to push buttons and smiles super big when there is noise or light that is pushed.
  • She still takes 2 naps a day and goes to bed at 9ish. She takes 2 full bottles a day and 2 small bottles and has juice in a sippy cup in between.
